Oprah & Lie to Me

2018 is off to a crazy start. We must be getting old because we open the podcast up with complaints about millennials and trends that we don’t seem to understand. We talk about the meme of “goals” and “mood” along with the weird enabling culture that’s emerged around obsessions and being a “stan” for a celebrity. We briefly talk about the accusations against Stan Lee and the release of the Fusion GPS transcript. From here we talk about the Golden Globes and the weird redemption of Tanya Harding. We discuss and dissect Oprah’s speech. Ali gives us a brief history of American oratory while Vy links her speech to famous comic book speeches and Diz points out the hypocrisy of those cheering a President Oprah in 2020. We conclude with a fun new segment called Lie to Me where we try guess truths and lies from our past.
