Austin, Superbowl, & Batman

We start our podcast off with a discussion of Ali’s recent trip to Austin, Texas. We discuss migas and the attractiveness of Texans. We then talk Superbowl and our favorite commercials. We discuss the recent racist controversy of Liam Neeson who volunteered a story about how he stalked and hunted random black men in retribution for his friend. We talk about the nature of racism and the hurt caused by Neeson’s confession. Finally, we end by re-imagining Batman with different origins stories. Inspired by Jamelle Bouie’s twitter thread depicting Batman as a black man with the experience of systemic racism. Vy imagines Batman as a Vietnamese immigrant, Diz imagines himself as a lazy billionaire, and Ali imagines Batman shaped by the War on Terror.
