Hawaii, Aziz Ansari (TW), and MLK

We start this podcast off being thankful for not being killed by nuclear war. We discuss the surreal moment we live in. We relate the details of the major error and how it must of felt for the residents of Hawaii. We then talk about the allegations against Aziz Ansari and the debate that has emerged. We talk about the response to Aziz Ansari and the disagreements within the #MeToo movement. We discuss how the debates are missing a key element of the story–the entitlement that men feel when it comes to women’s bodies and the centering of pleasure on men during sex. We then discuss Martin Luther King Jr Day and his appropriation by America. This leads us to a discussion of the broader civil rights movements and comic books. Finally we end with another segment of Lie to Me.
